It’s painful when your own people act like they don’t know you. Not strangers, but fellow Tiv brothers and sisters, especially those who’ve become wealthy and now live outside Benue. You see them, greet them in Tiv, and what do you get? Silence. Indifference. Even shame.

You’re not chasing handouts. You’re not trying to compete. You just want connection—recognition of shared blood, shared roots, shared language. But instead, it’s like they’ve built walls with their success and expect you to stay on the outside.

In the workplace, it stings even more. The ones you expect to understand you—your struggles, your values turn cold. Some won’t associate with you, while others might even go out of their way to keep you down. And it leaves you wondering: Is it pride? Fear? Or something deeper?

This isn't about bitterness. it’s about heartbreak. About wanting unity and getting rejection.

Have you seen this happen too? What do you think is behind it? Let’s talk about it.
